Roos is a Dutch artist who has been living in Styria, Austria, for the past two years with her husband and two sons. Strolling through the woods with her dog, she finds endless inspiration in the natural beauty that surrounds her. Her paintings on wood communicate with the character of the material, each panel carrying its own history and unique qualities.

Inspired by Leonard Cohen’s words, “There’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in,” Roos explores the beauty found in imperfection. Her current theme revolves around candles—symbols of hope and tranquility. Using oil and acrylic paints, she captures the gentle glow and warmth of candlelight, inviting moments of stillness and introspection.

Through her art, Roos strives to bring light into people’s lives, encouraging mindfulness and joy in the everyday. She hopes that viewers find in her work a serene escape that illuminates the beauty within the cracks.
